Raise your head timid one
They have bent your neck
To climb their ladders
Left your heart a wreck
Your mind in flinders
Do you think yourself an egret
Straighten yourself fearful one
They have trampled your back
To build their bridges
Left deep in slack
With missing wodges
Do you think yourself a marabou
Strengthen your frame nervous one
They have clipped your feathers
To mend their fences
Bound without tethers
With no defences
Do you think yourself a kiwi
Open your eyes unique one
Don't clip your toes
To fit their shoes
Or float on floes
To fight their noes
Soar on high glorious eagle!
